Hello Again

I missed three days while Blogger was down, and now I am trying to decide if I need to post 4 times today or whether I can just call it a vacation? It couldn't have come at a better time really, I have been feeling majorly burnt out on many levels. Hopefully a few days away was all I needed!

So today, I am posting a little video instead of a picture. I took this video on my Canon 60D which is my regular camera. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to take an in-focus video in the months since I have had this camera, but my neighbor bought one too and he is technically-inclined and he clued me into the fact that I needed to switch my lens to Manual focus instead of auto focus. I am boring you with all these details because.... well, the video I took goes out of focus sometimes. Oops! Live and learn. Now I have realized that if the lens is on manual focus, I probably need to switch out my prime lens (Terra, this is mostly for you.... so hopefully you can learn from my mistakes!)

Anyways! Here is the story behind this video. I have an internet friend named Christine who I have become close to. As I may have mentioned, I belong to some kid's clothing forums where you can buy and sell kid's clothes and talk about our mutual obsession. Initially I "met" Christine there and eventually we mutually bonded over the fact that her 6 year old daughter unfortunately suffers from the same phobia as me. Christine is also my fabulous ebay Trade Assistant who has helped me to dispose of my abundance of kid's clothes in a financially pleasing way, and her partner Danny is the computer graphic designer behind most of my "cupcake toppers" and party invitations to match my kid's (and friend's kid's) parties. This long introduction is to explain that despite the fact that I "talk" to her on messenger or facebook almost daily, she has never heard my voice. Since she often posts little videos of her and her kids on facebook, she asked me to do one so that she could hear what I sound like. So here it is Christine!

Since I was talking to Evelyn, I will explain a few quick things... the first thing she says is "Opa" which is the name of her favourite Greek food restaurant chain. Basically, this little video is just her using her new-found vocabulary and having a chat with me. And I hope I don't really sound like this, lol, I think I had on my "talking-to-babies" voice. Or maybe I really do sound like this.

  2. Terra, try using it with the telephoto lens, and use the zoom to focus on your subject... I think that will work better than the 50mm (that is what you have, right?). Let me know how it goes!
